When John Allen shows
up at a local eatery women swoon. When he's in
Las Vegas foreigners mob him for photos and
autographs. And why all this attention?
This
Delray Beach is a dead ringer for the well known
Scottish actor. At 57 Allen has become a leading
impersonator of the actor at corporate and
private parties, in commercials and even used as
Connery's stand-in major motion pictures.
To honor his achievements The International
Guild of Celebrity Impersonators and Tribute
Artists presented Mr.. Allen with The "Cloney
Award" for the second year in a row, for Best
Impersonation of a Legend.
"When you're the splitting image of
dashing superstar Sean Connery, the world is
your oyster."
But the best perk of the job came when he
actually met Connery face to face on a Hollywood
movie set.
"Everyone was very excited to have him
on the set" says Allen "He stepped onto the
set and instead of going over to the
director he came up to me and said" Hello
John, you look wonderful today" "I said "of
course I do I look like you "
Allen has been flown all over the USA,
Canada, the Carribbean, Europe and even
Auckland, New Zealand, which is the only place
electronics giant Samsung could charter a jumbo
jet to film a commercial.
